The All Progressives Congress (APC) will formally unveil its Vice Presidential Candidate, Senator Kashim Shettima, to the Nigerian public on Wednesday, Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja, its National Organising Secretary, Mr. Suleiman Argungu, has said.
Recall that against the grain of public opinion, APC’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, picked former Borno State Governor, Senator Kashim Shettima, as his running mate.
“All Members of the National Executive Committee (NEC), Members of the Progressives Governors’ Forum, Members of APC Caucus in the National Assembly, Members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC), Members of the Diplomatic Corps, Presidential Aspirants at the June 2022 Special National Convention, APC State Chairmen, APC State Secretaries and APC State Organising Secretaries, are, hereby, invited to witness this landmark Official Unveiling of our Great Party’s Vice Presidential Candidate,” the statement by Argungu said.
Recall that Shettima’s unveiling was inexplicably postponed from last week, amid tension generated by the anger that swept through the party and Nigerians over the preference of a Muslim-Muslim ticketby the ruling party in a multi-religious country.
There was a rash of angry comments and resignations from the partymen, including known associates of another former aspirant and Minister of Transport, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi.
