Outrage continued to pour in after unknown gunmen stormed the residence of Reverend Daniel Umaru of the EYN Church Njairi, Mubi Local Government Area of Adamawa State, killing his sons, shoot him and proceeding to his 13-year-old daughter.
‘Eklesiya Yan’uwa A Nigeria’ (EYN); also known as Church of the Brethren has suffered intense persecution in the north-east of the country, losing members and countless structures in the last decade.
Umaru continues to receive treatment for his injuries while his wife is said to be in coma.
In his reaction, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State said, “The State Government condemns in the strongest terms the despicable attack on this innocent family; the perpetrators of this heinous act must be brought to justice, and we have offered our full support to the Security Agencies to do so.”
He offered his “deepest condolences” to the victims’ loved ones.
Over two years ago, Boko Haram insurgents killed Lawan Andimi, chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Michika local government area of Adamawa state.
He was abducted early January 2020 when the insurgents attacked Michika.
The Chibok man from Borno state, worked as a pastor in Michika.
His wife, Mary, was to express gladness that her husband did not renounce Jesus Christ before he was killed.
On social media, especially on the Facebook platform of the Hausa Christian Foundation (HACFO), there was an outpouring of rage and emotions over the killing of Pastor Umaru’s sons and his shooting.
HACFO it was who made news of his killing viral, using the family photo that is now available on many platforms.

Last night (early Wednesday morning), unknown gunmen stormed his residence, killed his two sons and kidnapped his 13 year old daughter. He was shot and left battling life in the hospital. The wife is in coma due to shock.
Oh God save our nation from bloodthirsty people and heal our land.
Oh Lord! Please help your children to remain focused in the midst of these challenges. Grant healing to your son and bring his wife out of coma. Give calmness to his daughter and rescue her unmolested for the sake of your glory.
