The Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate, Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, representing Niger North Senatorial District says he is very much in the race for the Senate, though State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello, is a major contender for the seat.

Speaking in his hometown of New Bussa, the headquarters of Borgu local government area he said: “My presence here before you, Men and women of goodwill  is to affirm that I am still very much in the race for Niger North Senatorial seat, I have not withdrawn and I have no intention to withdraw.”

He pointed out that it would amount to political betrayal to his people who purchased his  nomination form if he withdrew from the race for any reason.

He presented a 200-page compendium of his seven years constituency works to the people, adding that he has fulfilled all his campaign promises to the people.

He assured his constituents that he would consolidate on his achievements, if given another chance.

He appealed to the people to queue behind him in the forthcoming May 25th primary election, stressing that they should not distracted by the rumour of his withdrawal from the race.

Earlier, Abdullahi drove with a long motorcade, acknowledging cheers from supporters who trooped out to welcome him.
