How leader of Fellowship of Christian Students in Sokoto school was stoned, burnt to death

Must read

The sisters’ leader of the Fellowship of Christian Students (FCS), a 200 level Home Economics student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto, Nigeria, was this morning stoned and set ablaze by some islamic fundamentalist group.

She was accused of blaspheming their Prophet.

Trouble, it was gathered, started from an argument on the school’s Department’s WhatsApp group which led to the gruesome murder.

A Christian minister suggested in a message that Christian students in the school had always been victims of persecution. He wrote: “The last time I was on the campus to preach to students, I preached to them under a tree as they were not given a room to meet for fellowship on campus by school authorities.

He called for prayers for the family of the deceased student and the Fellowship of Christian Students (FCS).

He adds, “ask God to intervene in the security of lives of Christians on the campus and in Sokoto city… the Islamic headquarters of Nigeria where the Sultan is based.”

A video of the stoning and burning of the student was made.

Meanwhile, the State Commissioner of Information, Isa Bajini Galadanchi, disclosed that Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal had ordered that the school be shut and investigations conducted.

“The Governor has called on the people of the state to remain calm and maintain peace as the government would take appropriate actions on the findings of the investigation,” Bajini said.

Editor’s Note: We are sorry we cannot publish the video of the barbaric killing because of its gory nature.
