“Teacher, which is the most important commandment in the law of Moses? Jesus replied, “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest… a second is ‘Love your neighbor as yourself”… All the demands of the Law and Prophets are based on these…” (Matthew 22:36-40,NLT)
Religion can be quite demanding, for it comes with laws, liturgies and dogmas too numerous and complex to remember and observe. The Jews had over 600 of such, apart from the 10 commandments.
GOD simply demands a relationship based on LOVE for Him and for others. This means trusting and obeying Him, affirming and serving others. How complex is that?
If all our engagements with God do not come down to these two, then they are too complicated. We may need to decode the codes.
