Member representing Yagba Federal Constituency at the House Representatives, Hon. Leke Abejide, is sustaining efforts to mitigate the holiday time challenges, of his constituents in Yagbaland and indeed Okunland, on their yuletide travels, with an ongoing road rehabilitation programme.
There has been public outcry over the neglect of the road and others by the state and federal governments.
Two months ago, Abejide in response to the pains of commuters on decrepit access roads in Yagba federal constituency, commenced the palliative works. With the major road artery through the area fallen into worrisome disrepair, characterised by gullies, lacerations and general unmotorability, Abejide commissioned the scraping, filling and compaction of the road.
Workers on the road, have been functioning round the clock, virtually, to deliver on the project. Recent on-site photographs attest to continuation of work, to ease vehicular movement, during the festive season.
Accentuation of road travel between Friday December 24, 2021, to Monday January 3, 2022, will necessitate a short break by the contractors, so as not to impede movement on the road. Work resumes on the road Tuesday January 4, 2022, with the continuation of scarification main work.
The Kabba-Isanlu-Egbe segment of the North/South highway, has suddenly become the preferred route for travellers to Kwara State and parts of the South West, on account of the reconditioning of the road thus far.
