Former Director of Protocol in the Federal Capital Territory Authority (FCTA) and Zamfara State Governorship Aspirant, Alhaji Sagir Hamidu, is dead. He was shot dead on Sunday along Kaduna – Abuja Road by bandits, it was gathered.
A source said that other passengers may have been abducted in the operation near Katari village along Abuja-Kaduna expressway. Abandoned vehicles were seen parked beside the road between the hours of 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., leading to fears that they were either kidnapped or fled into the bushes.
A video of the parked vehicles was trending on social media, as word was being awaited from the Police.
Hamidu was the Head of Protocol when Dr. Ibrahim Modibbo was the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, a source said.
