Almost three months after the sanctity of its premier tertiary institution was compromised, two of its officers gunned down, and one kidnapped, the Nigerian military have uncovered one of the collaborators in the bandits’ attack on the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna.
The alleged collaborator, a member of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), Sergeant Torsobo Solomon, attached to the Air Force Comprehensive School, Yola, has been arrested, and flown to Kaduna for further investigations.
The military announced he was arrested on Monday in Yola, capital of Adamawa State.
Recall that at about 1.30 a.m. on August 24, 2021, bandits beat the tight security at NDA and launched an attack that left two officers – Lieutenant Commander Wulah and Flight Lieutenant CM Okoronkwo – dead.
Second Lieutenant Onah sustained gunshot wounds, but Major Christopher Datong was kidnapped and later freed in what was reported to be a firefight that left many bandits dead.
Datong sustained injuries in the rescue operation but returned home to his family after treatment.
