After weeks of political speculations on the state of the relationship between Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and his former boss and ex-Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubi, both men met in Abuja late Friday afternoon.
Details of the meeting are sketchy, but speculations are that both men are interested in taking over from President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023, leading to unconfirmed speculations of a frosty relationship. The meeting in Abuja is believed to have been held to debunk the speculations.
Except for the actions and comments of proxies and supporters, the two have not categorically expressed their intentions to take over from Buhari.
A source in the know of the meeting declined to give details. He simply said that it was a private meeting.
