The Police in Kaduna has confirmed the kidnap of an unknown number of seminarians in a Catholic Seminary in the southern part of the state.
Reports, earlier on Tuesday, said bandits on Monday night stormed the St. Albert the Great Institute of Philosophy.
Situated at Fayit community, Kagoma Chiefdom in the Jama’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State, the seminary was said to have been surrounded by a large continental of suspected bandits that took away the students, who had just finished their evening prayers.
Others in the dinning room scampered for safety as shots from the heavily armed criminals were heard.
The exact number of abducted students is yet to be ascertained, but with the visit of the Police to the school, a figure is expected soon.
Kaduna Police spokesman ASP Muhammad Jalige, said the operatives of the Police Tactical Team in Jema’a have visited the school to confirm the number and address the situation.
