Drama, more drama: Secondus sacked! Chairman points at Wike

Must read

A State High Court sitting in Degema, River State, has sacked the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, worsening the bizarre drama of power-play, where Governor Nyesom is believed to be bent on sacking the man he brought in.

The court on Monday granted an ex-parte motion stopping Secondus from parading himself as the chairman of the party.

Four aggrieved members of the oppositiony: Ibeawuchi Ernest, Dennis Amadi, Emmanuel Stephen and Umezirike Onucha, who filed the suit are also seeking the ouster of Secondus from the party.

In a reaction, the Media Office of Secondus in a statement pointed fingers in the direction of Wike. It said:

“Media office of the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has been inundated with calls from media houses on a press statement  sent to newsrooms by one Kelvin Ebiri, Special Assisatant Media to the Rivers state Governor, Bar Nysom Wike announcing that “Court Restrains Secondus from Parading as National Chairman, Member of PDP”.

“If Secondus  and the party are taken to court they will defend themselves.

“PDP and Secondus are not afraid of court, this party is a child of history, owned by Nigerians, bigger than any individual or group including desperadoes.”
