Paramount ruler of the Ham people, 83 years old Kpop Ham Danladi Gyet Maude, has arrived his palace in Kwoi, Kaduna State after a two-day ordeal in kidnappers’ den.
He arrived the Palace at about 9.30 p.m., within hours of his release. It is not known if any ransom was paid for his release, though the abductors reportedly asked for N100 million.
A brother of the ruler, Mr. Anthony Maude told a television station two days ago he was kidnapped on his farm located at Gitata community in Nasarawa State.
The community is located at the boundary between Kaduna and Nasarawa states
His kidnap came weeks after the abduction of another octogenarian ruler, the Emir of Kajuru in the same troubled Kaduna State, which appears to be a playground for bandits and killers, like Niger, Kebbi, and Zamfara states. The Kajuru emir was also released after a few days.
