“The prophet who has a dream should tell his dream. However, the person who has my word should honestly speak my word…” [Jeremiah 23:28, GW]
Whenever a people and a nation are in a crisis and seek the Lord’s intervention, the first thing God sends is a Prophetic word. That word gives a proper diagnosis as well as prognosis to the challenges.
However, there are always two kinds of prophets in the land: a ‘Jeremiah’ – a true prophet who speaks God’s mind; and a ‘Pashur’ – a political, pseudo-prophet who speaks to please the King and the people [Jeremiah 19-20]
The answer to any personal or national crisis lies in the accuracy and authenticity of the prophetic word, and our response to it as God’s people. Little wonder, the enemy labours so hard to compromise our prophets and distort God’s word.
Would you rather listen to God’s Jeremiah or a political Parshur?
