Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, Prince Clem Ikanade Agba, has called on Christian faithful to imbibe the spirit of love for country and good neighbourliness, which the teachings and lessons of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ exemplify.
Agba said in an Easter message to Christians wherever they may be to show tolerance and embrace peace, understanding and other virtues that unite humanity, strengthen friendship and deepen brotherhood.
He stated: “This is the only way that we can draw meaning and give appreciation to God for the gift of Jesus to the world and his phenomenal sacrifice of His life on the Cross at Calvary where He shed his precious blood as propitiation for the sins of mankind.”
Agba said that the world needed Jesus Christ to achieve God’s plans and purpose for humanity, adding that having received Him from God, it behooved mankind to focus on Him for solutions to global conflict.
He stressed that this year’s Easter “provides yet another opportunity to renew our focus on Jesus Christ and seek to make Him the central reason for all that we do to improve our society in particular and humanity in general.”
