Three years of UN Nurse’s captivity: Group says Nigeria in National Emergency of Human Theft

Must read

Citing the case of Alice Ngaddah, a Nurse, housewife and mother, and UNICEF Aid worker who was kidnapped by ISWAP Boko Haram terrorist on March 1st, 2018, a group says Nigeria is in a National Emergency of Human Theft, and has called for prayers for all those in captivity with the recent being over 300 students of the Government Girls Science Secondary School, Jangebe in Zamfara State.

The Gideon Para-Mallam Peace Foundation states further: “Today marks her (Alice) 3-full years in captivity. Many of us remember Leah Sharibu more, who herself marked the same 3-years on February 19th, 2021. From the Chibokgrils to Leah Sharibu, Alice Ngaddah, Grace Tuka, Lilian Gyang Daniel, Pst Polycarp Zongo and now Pst Bulus Yakuru from Chibok and countless others too numerous to be mentioned by name.

We clearly have a national emergency of human theft … in some parts of Nigeria now. Alice Ngaddah would be spending her 3rd year in captivity almost nearly forgotten by the government and even the people of Nigeria and the citizens of the world. Meanwhile her husband is hurting badly, so also her young children and her sisters and aged mother.”

The groups head, The Reverend Gideon Para-Mallam, described the UN nurse situation as most painful and called for prayers for her and several others in captivity.

He invoked the Biblical Book of Isaiah 49:24-26 for the prayers. It reads: “Can plunder be taken from warriors, or captives be rescued from the fierce?

 “But this is what the Lord says:“Yes, captives will be taken from warriors, and plunder retrieved from the fierce;
I” will contend with those who contend with you,
    and your children I will save.
 “I will make your oppressors eat their own flesh;
    they will be drunk on their own blood, as with wine.
“Then all mankind will know
    that I, the Lord, am your Savior,
    your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.”

Para-Mallam prayed that God Almighty will show mercy and grace by bringing an end to the wickedness of the wicked over Alice and soften the hearts of her abductors. “Oh, that God will move in mysterious ways for Boko Haram to release Alice and others in their captivity”, he said.

That the Lord will touch the hearts of those in authority in Nigeria to remember the plight of those in captivity and act appropriately to secure their safe release.

He adds: “That the Lord will comfort and cause His peace to envelop her husband, children, her sister; extended family and friends during theirs and our collective trying moments of intense emotional trauma caused by Alice’s physical absence.

“We pray that Alice, Leah and others in Boko Haram’s captivity will be released alive and safe – soonest, in Jesus’ mighty name; and that their faith in Jesus Christ will not be shaken even in captivity.

“In the last week, Shekau’s faction of Boko Haram, captured Pst Bulus Yakuru from Chibok and later issued one week’s ultimatum to the government to negotiate his release or he will be killed. This ultimatum will expire on Wednesday March 3rd, 2021. Let’s collectively pray that God’s powerful word in Isaiah 49:24-26, will come to pass over in Jesus’ name.

“That some of the Chibok girls, kidnapped since 2014 will be released. These tragic events have had and still have pyscho-traumatic consequences for the people of Chibok, who united in grieve have now committed themselves to raise money to secure Pastor Bulus’ released. They are improvised yet united in poverty, they are showing what Christian love is all about. May God honour their faith.

In the last few months, hundreds of Nigerians are believed to have been kidnapped, but prominent amongst them are students of secondary schools in the northern parts of the country where terrorism, banditry, and abductions have become a plaything in the hands of criminals, who appear to be steps ahead of overstretched and overwhelmed security agencies.
