Emerging reports from Owerri say former state Governor, sitting Senator Rochas Okorocha has been arrested by Imo state government for allegedly personally leading the destruction and vandalism of security vehicles and breaking into the property of Imo State government.
It may not be unconnected with the seizure of his vast estate which the government locked and intended to demolish.
But a source said political power and the anger of a majority of the Imo people, against the former state chief executive, is being played up to settle political scores as Governor Hope Uzodimma struggles for supremacy against formidable foes in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftains in the state.
According to News Guru, an online online newspaper, the Governor, it was said, this afternoon, led armed thugs to break into the property of the state government, destroying security vehicles and other state government properties.
He is currently being held and detained at the state CID.
