Who are you following?

I needed to get to the venue on time, but the road was jammed with traffic. Then came this friendly looking young man with his unsolicited advice, “please follow that car, you will get out of this jam”. I did, without hesitation, only to end up on the opposite side of where I was supposed to be. And I missed my appointment. Hearkening to a strange voice, and following the wrong person led me astray.

In our journey of Faith, as in life, the voices we hear and the ones we follow will either lead us home or astray. The most critical spiritual discipline and need therefore is learning to hear and follow Jesus – our good shepherd. That is where life and safety lies. And that is what distinguishes His sheep from the myriads of “goats” in the religious arena.
