Days after he was disqualified from the primaries of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), and shortly after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, on Tuesday resigned his membership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
It has been widely speculated that Obaseki is headed for the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after he met with Governors Nyesom Woke, Ifeanyi Okowa, and Emmanuel Udom of Rivers, Delta, and Akwa Ibom States respectively. The South-South Governors are of the PDP.
