Naira Marley, again! Jabi Lake Mall shut for two weeks, but…

Must read

Patrons of the Jani Lake Mall will have to pay the price of the ineptitude of the management, and, perhaps, government agencies, that turned a blind eye while a concert lasted for hours, smack in the middle of Abuja, even though there was a ban on such events.
The huge property that houses shopping centres has been sealed for two weeks for allowing its parking lot to be used for a ‘drive-in’ concert that turned rowdy and breached Covid-19 protocols.

An Abuja Magistrate Court ordered the sealing of the Mall for flouting regulations on Covid-19.
The FCT Enforcement Task Team immediately enforced the order l
Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley flew from Lagos to Abuja with Ex-BBNaija star, Kimoprah, despite the ban on interstate movement and flights.
Magistrate Idayat Akonni, also convicted the Mall managers for violating the FCT COVID 19 guidelines and Quarantine law.
Expectedly, there have reactions from Nigerians who believe Naira Marley pulled his stunt because he got just a mere slap on the wrist from the Lagos State government when he performed at Actress Gummi Akindele’s birthday party weeks ago.
Others point to the drama playing out in the Presidential Villa, where a shooting incident has shown that presidential aides and First Family members have breached rules on Interstate travels in the past.
In the ensuing powerplay, there are allegations that the new Chief of Staff, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari; a Special Assistant to the President, Mr. Tunde Sabiu Yusuf; and daughters of the President made non-residential trips out of Abuja
Perhaps the most pungent of comments came from one Dr Joe Abah. He wrote:
1. Somebody approved the Naira Marley concert
2. Somebody approved the non-essential flight to Abuja
3. Somebody approved a bottle of hard liquor per ticket
4. Somebody didn’t stop the concert when it lost control
6. Somebody should be sacked this morning…if somebody is serious
