From the social media comes a new wave of videos which seem to suggest that the COVID-19 script was written a year ago by the United States government, or at least elements within, when a law was introduced in January 2019, but signed into law this month by Donald Trump.

Many conspiracy theories have been woven around the pandemic, the involvement of prominent billionaires, the World Health Organisation (WHO), pharmaceutical companies, research centres. The situation has been so muddled up it is difficult to tell the difference between the truth and the spin.
