Must read

By Charles Adisa MD
USA is now recognized as the new epicenter of COVID 19, with rising mortality of over 10,000 deaths as of today.
Looking at the figures may tempt one to say the mortality is quite high, but when you compare the mortality with the number of positive cases, you will discover that the case fatality rate is much lower than what you have in the UK with 5000 deaths and closer to Nigeria with 5 deaths.
Let’s look at the figures
1. USA : 2.97 % Fatality rate
2. UK: 10.4 % Fatality rate
3. Italy : 12.46% Fatality rate
4. Spain: 9.76% fatality rate.
5. China : 4.08% fatality rate( caveat: China official figures may not be accurate)
6. Germany : 1.75% fatality rate
7. Israel : 0.65 fatality rate
6. Nigeria : 2.1% fatality rate.
US Fatality rate is closer to Nigeria’s than Italy, UK and Spain.
The fatality rate will change, and most likely reduce as more tests are conducted.
So the mortality figures range from less than 1 percent to 12. 5% globally.
