Sanusi Lamido Sanusi’s last words (Hausa Video and English Translation)

Must read

(Opening prayers in Arabic affirming loyalty to Islam).
Our people, peace unto you and blessings from God. We are always grateful to God Almighty in all His blessings that does not finish, and in all the blessings God has done for me.
The Almighty God destined and I was enthroned as Sarkin (King of) Kano on the 8th June of 2014. He kept me alive and in good health, almost six years on this blessed throne of inheritance.
Today, God who enthrones has destined to take it from me. We always say that traditional stool is risky. The days God destined for any man on a throne are numbered, if those days are finished either one likes it or not he must leave. For that we accept all that God has done, we accept and are happy and grateful.
We are grateful to the people of Kano for all these years, for the love they have shown to us in obedience, love and prayers offered. We are grateful to all those who helped us especially in the affairs of our leadership, our council and chiefs who supported us.
We are grateful to our brothers who had fellowship with us, who stood to protect our integrity and the integrity of this house. We are calling on all the people to be calm and peaceful. We are imploring all our families, children and those we have authority over to be obedient and cooperate with whoever the throne will be given to. They should follow him and back him and protect his integrity for his integrity, his personality is very important to the integrity of this throne. We are grateful to our brothers and we are pleading for their indulgence to be patient.
We assure them that God does not make mistakes. All that God does is right and today they should not be worried. Whatever begins, it is the end that we should look out for. May God enable us to end well.
We are grateful to God that has given us the ability to spend these years on this throne and for giving us the ability to build the the houses in the palace, for giving us the privilege to bring this throne in the style of Sarki Khalifa. It is a source of pride to us to see the way Khalifa ruled and how he left us God’s path to follow. May God make it that just as he end walking close with God, we too should end walking close to God.
We thank our Muslim brothers for the prayers of goodwill to us for these years. We implore them to continue praying that this country and Kano will have God’s peace.
God bless you, God keep you, God brings back the wealth and blessings of this country and give us the right leaders. May God protect the integrity of this throne, may God bring blessings our path. Thank you, thank you and thank you we are so grateful, we have parted joyfully and in peace with Thanksgiving.
(Closing Islamic prayers exalting Islam and its prophet)
Peace be unto you.
