A CLEAR VISION OF GOD
ALL MEN EVERYWHERE DO WORSHIP.
The object, mode and motive may differ but all worship. The legendary singer, *Bob Dylan, in one of his classics – “You gotta serve somebody” – put it sunctilily: “…You’re gonna have to serve somebody, yes Indeed you’re gonna have to serve somebody. Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord, But you’re gonna have to serve somebody…”
THERE IS TRUE WORSHIP, ACCEPTABLE TO GOD, AND FALSE WORSHIP – IDOLATRY. What constitutes true worship and what is idolatry?
TRUE WORSHIP is usually a ‘natural’ response to a clear vision and revelation of God. In other words, it is not possible to truly worship a God you have never personally encountered.
Prophet ISAIAH, in our text for today, had a vision of The exalted Lord as he went into the temple. His response was worship – giving honor and reverence to God – Isaiah 6:1-3
The DISCIPLES went up to Galilee to wait for the Lord. “When they saw Him, they worshipped Him… ” – Matthew 28:17
Who did you see as you went into your ‘temple of worship’ this week – the exalted Lord or an exalted ‘Man/Woman -of-God’?
You can never truly worship The Lord beyond your personal vision and revelation of Him.
