Senator Ifeanyi Ubah appeals Friday sack from Senate

Must read

Senator Ifeanyi Ubah has filed an appeal at the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal, after he was sacked Fridat by an Abuja High Court.
His appeal confirms the vow by the National Chairman of Young Peoples Party (YPP), Mr Bishop Amakiri, earlier on Friday that his party would appeal the decision of the high court.
Amakiri said the court lacked the jurisdiction to entertain and enter judgment.
Ubah is insisting that he was not served with the Originating Processes and hearing notice with respect to the suit that led to his sack from the Senate.
He was first sacked in April 2019. He applied for stay of excution. Meanwhile, he diligently pursued another petition in the Anambra Election Petitions Tribunal, which he won, and won again at the Appeal Court.
But Friday, he lost again at the first court in Kubwa, Abuja that sacked him as Anambra South Senator last April. The court went a step further to order the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to withdraw his certificate of return and give one to Dr. Obinna Uzor of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
Also, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court sitting in the Bwari area of Abuja reaffirmed his sack of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, with an additional caveat: his party: the Young Progressives Party (YPP) should not have contested the election because it conducted no primaries to pick Ubah.
Justice Bello Kawu refused to reverse the judgment of the court delivered in which removed Uba as a member of the Senate.
Among other claims, the PDP candidate alleged that Ubag presented a forged National Examination Council (NECO) secondary school certificate to INEC, which enabled him to contest thel election.
