Grumbles in the House of APC as state chairmen lament being forsaken

Must read

The All Progressives Congress (APC) may be the ruling party, but its foot soldiers in the States are grumbling loudly about being forsaken. In orders words, not even the crumbs from the table at the centre in Abuja are getting to them.

They allege that their party does not care about their welfare and that many of them are victims of crimes and various other attacks.

In a communiqué after an emergency meeting in Abuja where they frowned that those who formed the APC and nursed it to maturity are by-passed for latter-day joiners.

Media reporters quoted the local party chiefs of lamenting the abandonment of the party strcture and systems.

They blame the development on the absence of a National Secretary following the election of the former holder of the office, Mai Mala Buni, as governor of Yobe state

They claim there is therefore no synergy between the party and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), for trickle down effect in terms of patronage.

The Chairman grumbled over the ill-fate that has befallen many of them with no care shown by the headquarters or government.

“We observe with utter disgust and amazement the neglect of our various election petitions in various tribunals throughout the states in terms of litigation support and case management.

“We bemoan the plights of pioneer/founding members of our great party. Many of our founding fathers are left out of critical decision-making processes while strangers have suddenly become leaders and kingmakers of a party they worked assiduously to defeat…

“For instance, in 2015, Adamawa state chairman died while in active party service. No official visit was paid to the family.

“Again, in 2018, the Cross River state chairman died in an accident while in active service for the party. The party and the government failed to ask after the welfare of his bereaved family members.”
