From Solomon Musa, Yola
Leaders for Good governance, a political association supporting Governor-elect, Alhaji Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has called on Adamawa workers to vote the national publicity secretary of National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) Comrade Emmanuel Fashe, as the state chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).
The spokesman of the group, Alhaji Abubakar Suleiman, told journalists on Thursday in Yola that for Adamawa workers to enjoy government’s patronage and good welfare, it is only Fashe that has the ability to stand for the interest of workers.
He said that Fashe’s stewardship as NUGLE both at the state and national levels is a clear testimony that he has the capacity to attract and convince the leadership of Fintiri’s administration to better the life of workers.

“Fashe is a friend to Fintiri, he believes in making people happy, he is not the type of leader that can sell workers interest by giving factious  awards to a governor that cannot pay workers. Fashe is the hope of Adamawa workers and I appeal to workers that want to benefit from this government to vote Fashe”, he stated.
Suleiman who described other candidates vying for the office as contract seekers, challenged the serving NLC chairman, Mr. Jeremiah  Ngyakwar, to explain to Adamawa workers why leave grant of state workers and salaries of local councils’ were not paid for several months without Labour reacting.
He wondered why Ngyakwar who will be retiring from service this year will be seeking re-election despite Article 20 of the NLC constitution banning such class of people from contesting elections in the union.
“It is time to flush out people that are working only for their family, so it is time for Nyakwar to go in peace and allow people with vision to lead NLC in the state,” he stated.
In a related development  pensioners in the state have throw their weight behind Fashe’s candidature, accusing the present leadership of betraying them and the entire workers in the state.
The spokesman of the pensioners, Mr. Jonah Dili, told newsmen that the present NLC leadership did not only betray Adamawa workers, but also used workers to get financial favours from the government.
He said that for four years pensioners in the state did not get their pensions, but still NLC leadership kept sealed lips.
