Seconds away…Kaura to be officially declared Governor-elect for Bauchi

Whatever visible impediment that stands in the way of Senator Bala Mohammed Kaura being officially declared the Governor-elect of Bauchi State was this Monday removed by an Abuja court which vacated its own order stopping the declaration of the result of the remaining one local government, Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area.
Justice Inyang Ekwo took time to explain that he did not issue an ex-parte order but one to maintain the status quo.
He also declined jurisdiction in the case saying it was meant for an election tribunal. Many hissed and grumbled in court, murmuring.
If and when declared, the tally of the votes margin between sitting Governor, Mohammed Abdulahi, and Kaura would further stretch to make the latter the authentic winner.
There been allegations that the court order was procured by the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate to see if he could swing a margin that would make him catch up with and surpass Kaura,  and swing the election his way.
An angry Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) suspecting foul play on the side of the judge had written a petition against him to the National Judicial Council (NJC).
Many who spoke after Ekwo’s ruling said he should have done what he did Monday before issuing the first order.
