PDP lambasts Obiano Ahead Assembly Polls

*You can’t deceive Anambra people again
From Chuks Moses, Awka
The Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) has lambasted the Anambra State governor, Chief Willie Obiano over what the party described as his usual political trickery and deceit, saying “you can no longer deceive the people of the state again as these deceits have gone full circle already”
In a statement signed by spokesman, Mr Nnamdi Nwangwu, made available to journalists in Awka, PDP noted that it’s worrisome that the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) government of Obiano has formulated a game plan at any election time to announce suspension of taxes the people had long paid at the beginning of the year.
Nwangwu noted that the governor again came up with his game of deceit when he announced the suspension of taxes already paid by the people few days to the Anambra State House of Assembly election.
He also noted that the governor who had embarked on merriment since his acclaimed 21/21 reelection victory has for some days now started disturbing the peace of the hapless neglected communities in the state by rolling out tractors and bulldozers to abandoned roads.
The statement said it was indeed laughable that Gov Obiano thinks he would continue to deceive the people and get away with it.
According to the PDP spokesman, “As far as we are concerned in PDP, the circle is complete for the governor. He can not take the good people of the state for a ride again. Enough is enough.”
He therefore urged the electorate to use the March 9,2019 State Assembly  election to prove to Obiano that they are not fools., adding that they should massively vote for the PDP candidates so that they can provide effective check to the governor’s excesses and profligacy.
The statement added: “The House of Assembly needs quality individuals who can come up with laws that will push Anambra State to her pride of place in the comity of states and at the same time carry out their oversight functions accordingly.
“A situation where the assembly has been reduced to a rubber stamp institution that take instructions from the governor is neither good for the state nor democracy.”
Nwangwu reminded the elements in the state blaming the people for voting for PDP in the presidential election, that the people have the unalienable rights to vote for whoever they wish.
“Nobody should tell anyone that he has not voted right. Rigging in any election can not validate such election. Atiku has gone to court to challenge the charade called presidential election, we are optimistic that PDP will get justice. Let the enemies of Igbo nation keep quite. “
