… NAWOJ declares 7 days prayers for family, rains curses on killers

The Adamawa state governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party ( PDP) Alhaji Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has suspended his campaign in the 21 local government areas in the state to mourn late former chief of defense staff Alex Badeh,who was assassinated last week by yet-to-be-identified gunmen along Abuja-Keffi road.
In a statement issued in Yola, Fintiri expressed deep concern over the killing of Badeh,who he described as the pride of the Nigerian military and the entire Africa due his commitment to defending the country against external adversaries.
The former acting governor said that the killing of the former chief of defense staff is a confirmation that security of lives and properties is not guaranteed presently in the country.
He urged the military authorities to take the challenge of arresting those behind the assassination of Badehserious, noting that it will be an embarrassment to the military if a four-star general is killed without the authority apprehending the perpetrators to face the full wrath of the law.
“We in PDP Adamawa state chapter as a special honor to our son, father, brother who sacrificed life to ensure that Nigeria remain one entity and is protected from external aggression,we suspended all political activities to pray for his soul and family,” Fintiri said.
The Adamawa state chapter of Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) has also declared seven days prayers for the family of the late chief of defense staff and rained curses on the killers .
In a statement issued by the association’s chairperson, Mrs Kate Alluda, the association said that Badeh has written his name in the golden book of the Union in Adamawa state and be considered a father of NAWOJ in the state.
Kate wept as she enumerated the contributions of late Badeh to NAWOJ in the state.
She placed curses on the killers adding “any man born of a woman cannot kill Badeh and go unpunished “.
