If you were to paint your picture of Love, what will it look like? For many it is most likely to be a rhyme in a song or a romantic gesture. To others, a valuable gift or token. Love is one word most loved and yet so misrepresented.
Our Lord God, who in Himself is Love personified, paints a clear picture of Love in His word. He portrays Love as…
Obedience ~ “He who has my commandments and keeps them is he that loves me…” – Jn. 14:21
a Sacrifice ~ “Greater Love has no man than this that a man laid down his life for his friends…” – Jn.15:13
a Responsibility ~ “…Do you love me more than these? … Feed my sheep… tend my lamb…” – Jn.21:15
Love is more than a rhyme in song or romantic gesture of a rose, it is a serious Responsibility that comes with sacrifice in obedience.
Sunday nuggets of Wisdom: Love – a responsibility, not just a rose or rhyme
