Incessant Ritual Killings: Kwara Assembly Wants Names of Sponsors Published By Police

Worried by the incessant ritual killings and dealing in human parts,in Kwara State and the arrest of eight people last week, the  State House of Assembly has asked the police to publish the names of their sponsors.
News making rounds in Ilorin and police sources indicated at the weekend that the suspects who had been transferred to Force Headquarters Abuja had allegedly confessed that notable figures among politicians were their sponsors.
The House of Assembly which commended the police for making the break in cracking high profile crimes said in addition, names of crime barons in Kwara should also be made public.
The arrested suspects caught with eleven human heads in their possession were reported to have also confessed that they had of late sold twenty one human heads, including that of a popular eating joint proprietor in the heart of Ilorin.
A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the House Speaker, Andulrahman Sanni, said a resolution to the effect was taken  following a Matter of General Public lmportance, raised by the House Leader, Hon. Hassan Oyeleke.
Sanni said the Speaker Rt. Hon. Ali Ahmad while reading the resolution expressed delight over the arrest and enjoined  the Police to return the suspects to the  state, to face the most comprehensive bill passed by the House.
The prospective law, he said, was  to tackle the menace of dealing in human parts, pointing out that the case should not be politicised like Offa armed robbery saga.
The legislature, while urging the Police to publish the names of  their sponsors, enjoined traditional rulers and the general public to be wary of strange  movements   in their localities and alert the police to stem  the tide of the dastardly act in the state.
The House Leader had, while moving the motion, disclosed that the prospective law, awaiting the assent of the Governor, provided stiffer penalties for the culprits, landlords and other accomplices and praised the legislature for being pro -active in addressing the problems afflicting the people of Kwara  state.
Rt. Hon. Ahmad  called on the State governor, Alhaji Abdul Fatah Ahmed, to quickly assent to the bill, describing it as the most efficient and sophisticated law on criminal justice in the country.
