It has emerged that the withdrawal of support by a South-West Governor led to the reported resignation of Finance Minister, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun. She is expected to make her resignation public within the hour.
Curiously, it was learnt, when Adeosun made to resign nine weeks ago when the story of the forgery of her NYSC certificate was broken by online newspaper. Premium Times, her home state Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, allegedly piled pressure on her not to.
Adeosun was recommended to her exalted office by Amosun.
A knowledgeable source said Friday that in the last “few days things went awry between them and he witbdrew his support, forcing her to do what she had planned to do in the first place.”
“It is painful he did it now,” another source added.
Presidential spokesman, Mallam Garba Shehu, maintained the official position there was nothing in the Presidency to show she had resigned. He directed Everyday.ng to her office.
Governor Amosun did not pick or return calls to his line Friday evening.
