If there is one concept or doctrine that has agitated the Christian world, prosperity would be it. It has garnered as much attraction as it has derision, depending on whether one is for or against it.
The problem begins with one’s definition* of the concept. Does prosperity mean abundance of wealth, health and success or is it a question of having God’s Peace, Joy and Love? In other words, is it just material or strictly spiritual?
Two pronouncements from Jesus* do not help matters – for the casual reader and observer:
●”… I came that they may have life and have it abundantly”* – John 10:10_
● “…Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, *for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.” Luke 12:15
What then is prosperity? And who really is a prosperous person? *Please join me next week as we explore this matter of Prosperity.
