FIFA’s hammer looms: Pinnick fails to stop Giwa as court adjourns case to Sept. 25

Mr Amaju Pinnick on Tuesday failed to stop Chris Giwa from operating in Glass House as NFF President as he could not raise the motion challenging the court ex-parte order granted to Giwa by the Federal High Court, Jos.
Justice Musa Kurya, the Presiding Judge in the case between Yahaya Adama and Alhaji Aminu Maigari and three others had, on June 5, made an ex-parte order asking Pinnick’s NFF leadership to vacate the Glass House for the Giwa-led group.
But Pinnick, through his counsel, Festus Keyamo (SAN) on July 5, stormed the court with two motions demanding for the vacation of the order granted Giwa and others, pending the determination of an application challenging the jurisdiction of the court.
Unfortunately those motions could not be heard on the objection of counsels to Yayaha and.his group, Mr Ardzard, which led to the case been adjourned for
today (Tuesday).
When the case came up, Keyamo announced his representation for Maigari and Ahmadu,  as well as Pinnick but he was challenged by Mr Shangyula Samuel, who claimed he is the representative of Maigari and Ahmed..
Both counsels (Keyamo and Samuel) argued their positions, but Keyamo withdrew his representation and was left to represent only pinnick.
But he (Keyamo) had to cross another hurdle by withthrawing his earlier motion filed on May 28 asking Kurya to recuse himself from the case to enable the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court to re-assign to another judge.
That attempt brought led to another serious argument with Samuel and Yahaya’s Counsel Mr Patrick Ikwueto (SAN) as they subjected the attempt to serious objections
Consequently, Samuel told the court that he could not continue with the case, which he knew little about even  as Keyamu tried to withdraw the motion.
“My Lord I am just coming into the matter for the first time and would need more time to enable me study it very well before making any meaningful  submission, ‘’ Samuel applied to the court
Although Keyamo objected to the application the judge ruled in favour of Samuel and adjourned the case to Sept 25 for continuation of hearing.
At that stage Keyamo informed the court of the danger of not addressing the NFF saga with urgency warning that FIFA by its letter to Nigeria has warned it would sanction Nigeria if the proper thing is not done.
The Judge then told the parties involved that if there was anything serious about the case they should write to the authorities for a fiat for him to continue since as he was “already on vacation.’’
