12 die, 50 injured in Maiduguri bombing

At least 12 persons are believed to have died and 50 persons are receiving treatment for various degrees of injuries after multiple bombings Wednesday evening in Maiduguri, reports from Borno State indicate.
Initial information by Abdulkadir Ibrahim, the Information officer Nnational Eemergency Management Agency (NEMA) North East Zone stated that the Emergency Response Team (ERT) from the Agency, Borno State Emergency Management Agency (BOSEMA) and Red Cross responded to a suicide bombing incident which occurred around Muna Garage along Mafa Dikwa road in Maiduguri, Borno state.
The Team responded to 65 injured people who were given first aid and transported to hospitals while 10 others lost their lives.
The statement said that preliminary reports indicated that four female suicide bombers were responsible for the blast. Other reports said there were two bombers.
The incident occurred at about 17.05 this evening.
At press time, the number casualties is said to have risen to 12, while some of the injured were said to have been treated and discharged.
