By Dr. Godwin Uwaoma.
It happened twenty years ago in my hospital but it is still fresh in my mind.
My hospital was then located at number ten park road, Aba. I was part of the story and I thank God for being there always for His people. I am a receiver of unusual miracles and I keep on bowing to God for all He is doing with me and around me.
The story started in my hospital where a seven year old boy was brought in around this period in December. It was just like any other fever and I did the usual investigations and started treatment. After two days, instead of the fever to go, it increased in intensity. The boy became anemic and we had to transfuse blood severally.
The boy is the son of a new convert in the fellowship, (Nigeria Christian Graduate Fellowship). Let me call him Bro P. Bro. P just gave his life to Christ during our Christmas Carol and we were thanking God for him and his wife. Bro. P was working at UTC. His wife was invited as a guest artist at the Carol by one of us who was also working with him at UTC.
unknown to us Bro. P was desperately looking for money. He went to Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, where a native doctor promised to do money rituals for him. It involved a lot of rigorous demonic ceremonies. One of the ceremonies was that he had to go to a cemetery in the bush at ikot Ekpene by 12 midnight to obtain some eggs. He did some incantations and two eggs entered his two upraised arms. He took them to the native doctor who extracted oil from the eggs. Other rituals followed. The final one was that a grave was dug, he was enclosed in a casket and lowered into the grave. He was brought out after some other incantations and rituals. They then asked him to go and wait for his money.
But God had another plan. The same morning he performed these final rituals was exactly the same day that our Carol was taking place. He drove from Uyo into our ongoing service. He wanted to dump the event but remembered his wife who was performing. Professor Shodeye from Kano was the guest speaker.
The hall was full at The Apostolic Church, 161 Azikiwe road Aba, venue of the program. Church leaders and dignitaries were seated when he sauntered in.
Bro. P gave his life to Christ that day. He was the only person that stood to receive Christ. He then decided that he didn’t need the money again! What!! After going through all the rituals?
The native doctor refused. He sent delegations to Aba to persuade Bro. P to collect his money but he will not bulge. They brought the money to him and he refused to accept. Meanwhile he had already committed the life of his only son. He had one son and four daughters. They told him there was no going back, he said no to the money. So they came for the son.
The more we prayed the worse the boy got. We continued. We were now praying in chains. On the seventh day, the boy suddenly got well. The fever left, the delirium was gone. That same hour, the first son of the native doctor died.!!
The rest is history.
