WlSDOM FOR LlVlNG by Tope Banso
“Then Satan entered into Judas, who was one of the twelve disciples” (Luke 22:3 New Living Translation).
That statement is thought provoking! Satan entered into Judas, a disciple of Jesus, and the next thing he did was to go and negotiate with the religious leaders who wanted Jesus dead. He agreed to betray him.
His gambit for the quick bucks of 30 silver coins turned into bitter water and he ended up dead by suicide. (Please full story in Matthew 26 and 27).
Could it be that Judas didn’t really expect that his sponsors would succeed in arresting Jesus but only thought he could use the deal to make some money for himself which he could go to enjoy after the plot might have failed? Satan entered into Judas!
But prior to the time he betrayed Jesus, the Bible says Judas was a thief and often stole from the disciples’ funds in his care (John 12:6). So, in a way, before Satan entered into him, and he went to negotiate to betray Jesus, Satan and Judas had been doing business together! Satan had been using him.
The principle is this: lf you’re useful to Satan in a supposedly small way, you’ll be useful to him in a ‘big’ way! If you make yourself available to Satan for what you call a little sin, he’ll come for you when there’s a ‘big’ sin to be committed! All things being equal, you don’t change a winning team!
Judas was a thief, and Satan used his love for money to push him to ‘sell’ Jesus for thirty silver coins which he couldn’t spend eventually.
Satan always wants to enter into you and use your pet-sin to destroy you – the sin that easily besets you or trips you up, your Achilles heel, the sin you’re addicted to (Hebrews 12:1). Is yours anger, covetousness, greed, unforgiveness, lying, sexual immorality, love of money, etc.? Repent, and forsake the sin (sins) now before Satan uses it (them) to destroy you. Forgiveness is available in Christ Jesus
Don’t say wrong things. Don’t look at wrong things. Don’t listen to wrong things. Don’t think on or watch wrong things. Don’t go to do wrong things or to wrong places.
Satan entered into Judas! Satan is daily looking for who to enter into. Let him not find you available.
This is wisdom for living, and it’s worth sharing.
