Former Ekiti Senator, Ayo Arise, abducted

A former Ekiti Senator, 61 years old Ayo Arise, has allegedly been kidnapped while on his way to Abuja.
It was gathered that he was abducted around Kogi State by gunmen who are asking for N80 million to let him go.
Senate spokesman, Aliyu Sahabi Abdulahi, did not pick his call Monday as details remained sketchy.
Arise was in the Senate for the Ekiti North constituency in 2007 and was appointed to committees on Local and Foreign Debts; and Banking and Other Financial Institutions.
The Guardian is reporting that Arise was said to have attended some events over the weekend in Ado Ekiti, the state capital and Ikere Ekiti on Saturday.
“He also took part in a golf knock around with friends on Sunday at the Ado Ekiti Golf Club along Poly Road, Ado Ekiti,” the online version of the paper said.
