Peter Obi rubbishes Obiano’s legacies; as Christian leaders pray for Chidoka

Must read

As political parties prepare for the November 18, 2017 Anambra governorship election, Governor Willie Obiano has received the most lacerating criticisms of his administration from his angry predecessor, Peter Obi, who is questioning his acclaimed achievements.
But leaders of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the Anambra Consensus Project (ACP) on Monday visited and offered prayers for the contender and candidate of the United Progressive Party (UPP), Chief Osita Chidoka, according to a statement from his campaign office.
Peter Obi, however, is angry that that Obiano is telling the world that he asked for N7 billion to support him in the coming polls.
He asked Obiano to dissipate more energy selling himself to the people than blackmailing him.
Both men have been having ig difficult to see eye to eye, and efforts to pretend over their political disagreement always ends in political fisticuffs.
Special Adviser to the former Governor, Mr. Valentine Obienyem, in a statement  that  “now that  he has  accepted that he did not give the N7 billion to anybody, that he should go ahead and tell Anambra people what he used their money to do, bearing in mind that major projects in the state such as roads, Awka and Nnewi malls as well as Onitsha and Agulu Hotels, among others remain abandoned.
“We know the governor has many questions to answer and cannot run away from them through blackmail. For instance, on the issue of the N75 billion Obi left for him, he tried to deny it by saying he met ‘near cash’, we went on and published the banks and account numbers where the money were and the bank certified the statement of accounts, but they tactically kept quiet.
”To refresh our minds, Obi left N2,139,951,400 billion in First Bank (Acc no. 2018779464) for Oko erosion; N4,909,576,925.98 billion in Sure-P Diamond account (0026290200);  1,782,568,032 billion in UBEC 1 Diamond  account(0023484282); N2,101,864,766 billion UBEC 2 Diamond Account (0031151473); over N4 billion  in many MDG accounts one of which was the N3,048,355,196  billion in Fidelity Bank (5030047097); over 35 billion Naira cash (set aside funds added) in all the banks. ”Obi also left $156 million in Fidelity Bank ($56 million); Diamond Bank ($50 million); and Access Bank ($50 million).
”If left as Anambra’s Future Growth Funds as conceived by Obi, the money with interest and accruals would have been about 200 billion Naira, but Gov. Obiano has sold all of them. In fact, it was one of the disagreements about the sale that led Mr. Oseloka Obaze to resign.
Obiano should be busy telling us the status of these moneys rather than his current blackmail.”
“Now is also the time for Obiano to justify before Anambra people why he takes 1.2 billion Naira as security votes, which is biggest in Nigeria relative to income.”
The statement said that what was curious was that within his first 6 months in office, he vired all the money in MDG account, with which schools and hospitals get monetary and development support to his security vote.”

The statement called on the sitting governor to come clean on all his lies like the export of pumpkin leaves he said yields  $5 million ugu export.
“As a seasonal vegetable, at least ugu would be exported once every year,   but now, going to two years, we do not hear about it again.
“He recently told us that Anambra got the order to export 10 million tubers of yam, maybe he did not even realize that over 80% of yam consumed in Anambra State come from Benue and Taraba States. He also said that Anambra is now producing over 200 metric tons of rice, when even Stines company source rice from Ebonyi State.”
The statement noted there were numerous reasons why Obiano should not be re-elected. They include:
*Signing of over 100 worthless MOUs;
*False claims of attracted 7.5 Billion Dollars investment to Anambra State;
*Concentration of  90% of his development projects in his hometown of Aguleri;
*The building òf only built three falling and cracking flyovers and evacuation of 50% of the power meant for the Awka to his Aguleri; and
*Relocation of the   on-going stadium project to Aguleri.
But Chidoka is basking in spiritual showers as both men do their laundry in the open
The prayer men and women who visited him asked God to vanquish all anti-people forces plotting to hijack the electoral process and ordain a hitch-free poll where only the votes of the people will ultimately count.
Speaking at the event, Chairman of CAN, Anambra state chapter, Senior Apostle Tim Okpala as well as ACP President, Dr. Emeka Eze said the delegation was in Chief Chidoka house to pray with him and encourage him ahead of the election.
Expatiating, Apostle Okpala said the two groups are non-government and non-partisan platforms committed to a credible, peaceful and hitch free election in Anambra state, adding that they will continue in prayers and advocacy to ensure that God’s will prevailed in the choice of the next governor of the state.
“We want a very hitch-free election devoid of violence, frictions and fetish activities. We will continue to commit the entire process into God’s hand so that His will prevails in the end”, he said.
In the same vein, the ACP President, Dr. Emeka said the organizations have set up structures in all the 326 electoral wards and 57 major markets across the state for continuous advocacy for credible, free and fair election.
“We want a very credible process where only the votes of the people will count. We no longer want a situation where a few persons decide the fate of the entire people. We are therefore working hard to ensure that the people come out to vote and that their votes count, so that they will have the opportunity of electing the governor of their choice”, he said.
The group also informed of its plans to conduct a public debate for the governorship candidates and their running mates to directly present their manifesto and capacity to deliver, adding that the debates will be scored.
The group later handed Chief Chidoka a Certificate of Congratulation among other important documents detailing their involvement in the electoral process.
Responding, Chief Chidoka, who stated that he has no godfather but the Almighty God and the people, noted that his guiding principle has been that of total surrender to the will of God and commitment to the ordinary people, whose mandate he now bears.
He thanked the delegation for their prayers and assured that he would not let the people down.
Recall that Chief Chidoka has received prayers from various Christian leaders including the Anglican Bishop of Niger West Diocese, Aguleri, Rt. Rev. Johnson Ekwe and the Methodist Bishop of Onitsha, Rt. Rev. Biereonwu Onuagha, who in separate church services in June, prayed for him while charging all those in the governorship race to imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship.
