As reported yesterday, … Flood Relief Initiative commenced phase two of its intervention today.
Phase two focuses on providing relief materials to flood victims in the IDP camp, as well as the majority victims who for various factors are not resident in the IDP camp.
Based on the needs assessment conducted yesterday, Monday, September 5, 2017, the Volunteer Team, divided into three groups (Condiments Purchase Group, Bedding Purchase Group, and Stoves Purchase Group) embarked on purchase of relief materials today. The following purchases were made:
a. 2 bags of salt
b. 5 cartons of star Maggi cubes
c. 10 cartons of sachet tomatoes puree
d. 10 cartons of Power oil
e. 2 bags of onions
f. 2 bags of Garri
g. 2 bags of sugar
h. 30 mattresses (we hope to purchase more tomorrow)
i. 12 Mosquito nets (more nets will be supplied to us on Friday)
j. 63 blankets
k. 40 Abacha stoves
l. 10 bags of charcoal
m. Half carton of matches
The items will be distributed to flood victims at the at the IDP camp tomorrow, Wednesday, September 6, 2017. More items, especially foodstuff will be purchased tomorrow, and distributed to IDPs around the Flood-ridden areas on Thursday, September 7, 2017.
Donations
The following donations were received today:
1. Packs of clothes from Fr. C. A.
2. Cash donation of N349,000 from three members of The-Benue-We-Deserve group.
3. R.A. provided a truck for our operations.
