CSOs want Diezani repatriated to answer corruption charges

Must read

A group of civil society organisations under the aegis of Say No Campaign Nigeria is initiating moves to get embattled former Oil Minister, Diezani Alison Madueke, repatriatex to Nigeria for prosecution over allegations of bribery and corruption.
The group addresses journalists on details of the move, saying it is a coalition of civil society organisations committed to the fight against corruption and impunity and advocating for transparency, accountability and good governance.
Diezani has been at the center of mind-boggling revelations of alleged corruption, even as she has come up recently to describe the allegations as tissue of lies, though she appears unprepared to return to the country to face charges.
Observers have likened her case to that of former Minister of Justice and Attorney-General, Mohammed Adoke, who, at the weekend, raised an alarm that there was a plot to abduct him to Nigeria for a trial over the controversial Malabu oil block deal.
Both fear that they would not get a fair trial and would only be used for a media circus in the fight against corruption, as been done to former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki.
