By Akin Akinbobola.
Gabriel Suswan, former Benue Governor, is not enjoying any respite over his eight-year tenure which ended two years ago as his successor and his executive council have endorsed his trial for allegedly diverting over a billion Naira.
Benue State Executive Council (SEC) gave marching orders to the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Michael Gusa, to prosecute him for the money meant for  the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Fund (MSMEDF).
This followed the approval of a memo by the State Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment on the recovery of the CBN MSMEDF which was domiciled in four micro finance banks.
The SEC also gave its nod for a 50 percent tax holiday on land based taxes, charges and fees so investors can access land for investments.
Mr. Lawrence Onoja, Commissioner for Information and Orientation, told journalists the tax holiday is for a year terminating in July 2018.
A  Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) agreement between the State government and Fanison International Nigeria Limited for the Mbatiav Cement project in Gboko Local Government Area was also terminated by SEC on account of alleged non-performance of contractual obligations by the company.
