Devaan says… mind your business

Good day, Devaan.
I am a little bit worried. My younger brother just had a baby and, let me just say she is not what anybody expected. For one thing we are all very light skinned in my family. My parents are both fair, all siblings (6) are fair, extended family also fair in variations. My brothers wife is fair too. So where did this ebony black baby, who looks like no one come from? I mean no one has said anything,  but me and my brother are really close. I truly can’t keep these thoughts to myself but I don’t want to hurt him either. What do I say to him

t’s none of your business. If he hasn’t complained it should not give you sleepless nights please. I don’t know if you are married but in my opinion a host of marriages have collapsed under the weight of interfering third parties. Your brother has eyes. If you have seen these things, so has he. If he comes to you for advice well then you may go ahead. Until then, please be quiet. Besides, whoever told you the wife has always been fair? Do you know all of your in laws? Free your brother please and give yourself peace.
If however your brother does get worried, there are scientific ways of banishing doubt nowadays. It’s called a DNA test. Till then, all you need say to him is,  “congratulations.”
