The Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi is repositioning Oyo State in all facets of life with quality infrastructure and visionary leadership, and that is beautiful, former Chairman, Oluyole Local Government, Alhaji Kehinde Olaosebikan, has said.
He made the assertion in Ibadan Friday when a group of students of Oyo State origin paid him a solidarity visit at his Bodija residence.
The group led by Comrade Yinka Razak of The Polytechnic, Ibadan said they were impressed with the prompt and positive response of Alhaji Olaosebikan to the new education reforms of the state government.
According to Comrade Razaki, Alhaji Olaosebikan’s donation of N 250,000.00 to a school without holding any political office has further confirmed his unmatched commitment and dedication to the well being of people at the grassroots.
Olaosebikan, last Wednesday, donated the money for the immediate rehabilitation of key structures of the Community Secondary School, Onipe, where he is the new Chairman of the Governing Board.
He noted that the new management mechanism for the 628 public secondary schools, put in place by Governor Ajimobi, has strategically mobilized the people of the state to participating in thethe schools.
Said he, “The decentralization of management of schools, core of which is the Schools Governing Board is already enhancing efficiency and effectiveness in school administration guaranteeing better performances by the students. All the critical stakeholders, (old students, community leaders , religious leaders, philanthropists and others ) have been strategically challenged and mobilized to participate more in the running of the schools.
“With their participation and more interests and hands in the running of the schools, there is bound to be greater inputs which would lead to enhanced infrastructure, improved teaching, effective learning, superior monitoring and ultimately, better results and development in the sector. When we talk of thinking out of the box for solutions to challenges, the government of Oyo State has indeed thought out of the box with this innovative and workable school management system. The future of education in Oyo state is evidently bright.
“As pioneer members of the School Governing Board for Community Secondary School, Onipe, I want to congratulate all of us for being part of this great inventiveness, marking the beginning of a new era for the school. As your Chairman and Special Servant, I have decided to fully dedicate myself to the progress of the school and to see that it becomes a Model in terms of infrastructure and academic excellence in the state. I want to specially urge us all to be on the same page for the realization of this noble goal.”
